Galasport Boat Material Information
CARBOLIGHT
Our highest quality racing boat. This lay-up is for the most demanding slalom racers who demand the highest quality, stiffness and design.
The boat is made using vacuum technology, where the epoxy resin hardens at high temperature.
Material composition:
- quality epoxy resin system
- about 80% carbon fabric and about 20% carbon-aramid fabric in places where more frequent contact with obstacles is expected.
- a unique combination of 3 types of foam plates in the Pyramid shape.
- single aramid seams on the front inside and double seams on the back inside.
- seamless on the outside (except for the bow and stern tips for extra protection where there is a thin black aramid tape) for the best possible aerodynamics.
- special lightweight carbon/aramid internal reinforcements connecting the deck and the hull
Weights: K1 8.0-9.0 kg, C1 8.5-9.0 kg, C2 13 kg.
The weight of the boat depends on the volume of the boat e.g. a boat for an 80 kg competitor is more heavy than a boat for a 50 kg competitor.
The weight of the boat also depends on the colour design. The lightest is a boat with a colourless carbon look.
Please note: We deliver boats weighing less than 9 kg as it is required by ICF rules. When you finish assembly of all accessories (seats, footrests, kneeling box etc.), add some weight to meet the 9 kgs limit for the competition.
PROFI
High performance racing construction. More durable than Carbolight construction.
The Profi lay-up is most often used by competitors who train on stony and shallow terrains.
More carbon-aramid material means a tougher boat when you compare with the Carbolight construction.
Both the bottom and the deck are more resistant to the penetration of sharp stones into the inside foam plates.
Material composition:
- quality epoxy resin system ( hardening at high temperature)
- the hull: carbon/aramid fabric and glass fabric ( 70:30) , with vacuum bag technology used
- the deck: carbon/aramid fabric and glass fabric ( 70:30) , with vacuum bag technology used
- 2 types of foam plates
- single aramid seams on the inside and outside.
- hard foam pillars (Styrodur) connecting the deck and the hull
Weights: K1 8.0-9.0 kg, C1 8.5-9.0 kg, C2 13 kg.

FLEXIBLE
Good economical construction, suitable for beginners as well as advanced racers and racers who already started training regularly on medium difficult slalom courses. The Flexible hull is more resistant to stone impacts than Carbolight or Profi construction.
Material composition:
- quality epoxy resin system ( curing at high temperature)
- bottom: carbon/aramid fabric and glass fabric ( 70:30) , with no vacuum bag technology used
- deck: carbon/aramid fabric and glass fabric ( 30:70) , with no vacuum bag technology used
- single aramid seams on the inside and outside.
- hard foam pillars (Styrodur) connecting the deck and the hull
Weight: K1 9-10 kg, C1 9.2-10.5 kg and C2 14-15 kg.
The weight of the boat depends on the volume of the boat. e.g. a boat for an 80 kg competitor is more heavy than a boat for a 50 kg competitor.
The weight of the boat also depends on the colour design. The lightest is a boat with a colourless carbon/aramid look.
MIXT
Economical construction suitable for beginners or advanced paddlers paddling easy slalom courses.
Material composition:
- quality epoxy resin system
- bottom: carbon/aramid fabric and glass fabric ( 50:50) , with no vacuum bag technology used
- deck: carbon/aramid fabric and glass fabric (10:90), with no vacuum bag technology used
- single aramid seams on the inside and outside.
- hard foam pillars (Styrodur) connecting the deck and the hull
Weight: K1 9.5-11 kg, C1 9.8-11.5 kg
The weight of the boat depends on the volume of the boat e.g. a boat for an 80 kg competitor is more heavy than a boat for a 50 kg competitor.
The weight of the boat also depends on the colour design. The lightest is a boat with a hull of a colourless carbon/aramid look.
DIOLEN
Economical construction for beginners paddling easy slalom courses.
Material composition:
- quality epoxy resin system
-deck: glass fabric , with no vacuum bag technology used
- hull: glass fabric , 2 sq meters of carbon/aramid fabric under the seat, with no vacuum bag technology used
- single aramid seams on the inside and outside.
- hard foam pillars (Styrodur) connecting the deck and the hull
Weight: K1 9.8-11.5 kg, C1 10-11.8 kg
The weight of the boat depends on the volume of the boat e.g. a boat for an 80 kg competitor is more heavy than a boat for a 50 kg competitor.
